Meet Nick Bowden, the esteemed Director and Head Coach at Run Ready, whose passion for athletics has transformed aspiring athletes into champions for over two decades. 

Armed with a rich educational background, including a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Bachelor of Arts, Nick’s expertise is further underscored by his Level 4 IAAF Athletics Coach certification and ASCA Level 1 from the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association.

Nick’s coaching legacy shines brightly through the achievements of numerous athletes he has nurtured to victory at the National and State Championships. His exceptional coaching skills were recognized globally when he served as the Australian Team Coach for the World Junior Athletics Championships in Beijing (2006) and Poland (2008), where his athletes showcased their prowess on the international stage. Notably, he coached Ben Buckingham, who represented Australia at the World Athletics Championships in Doha in 2019, demonstrating Nick’s ability to nurture talents to compete at the highest level.

Beyond the track, Nick’s impact extends as a lecturer in Exercise Science at esteemed institutions such as Deakin UniversityRMIT, and La Trobe University. He has also played a pivotal role in shaping the future of coaching by facilitating coaching courses for Athletics Australia and Athletics Victoria. Additionally, his contribution to curriculum development for Recreational Running Coaching courses for Athletics Australia highlights his dedication to enhancing the coaching landscape.

As the Head Coach of Athletics and Cross Country at Wesley College from 2002 to 2011 and later at Sacre Coeur from 2015 to the present, Nick Bowden has consistently demonstrated his ability to inspire and guide athletes to reach their full potential. His profound knowledge and unwavering commitment to the sport make him a beacon of excellence in athletics and cross-country coaching.
