Canterbury, 3126

Canterbury is a Melbourne suburb that’s difficult to miss! Canterbury is known for its luxurious avenues like Monomeath Avenue, Victoria Avenue, and Alexandra Avenue, which remain as opulent and aristocratic as ever. Canterbury is a suburb that attracts young families, working professionals, and retirees because of its closeness to prestigious schools like Camberwell Grammar School,  Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar School, and more. The number of schools and recreational centres in the area makes Canterbury a prime location for Run Ready’s sports physio, strength coaching, run coaching, and young athlete development programs.

Located 15 kilometres east of Melbourne’s Central Business District, Canterbury is strategically placed with Camberwell, Surrey Hills, Balwyn, and Hawthorn East at its borders.

Areas we Treat

The length of each sports physio session will vary from person to person because of the differences in the severity of their injuries. But, typically, a sports physiotherapy sessions can last from 30 to 40 minutes at a time.

If it’s your first time to have a sports physiotherapy session, you shouldn’t worry. The first visit to your sports physiotherapists can last from 40 minutes to an hour and will usually begin with a recount of your injury’s history, medical history (remember to bring any test results or scans that can be helpful), and a rundown of your lifestyle, physical activities, current and previous training, etc. We will discuss our findings with you and provide you with sound recommendations and a treatment plan.

Yes, it is possible to claim health insurance for sports physio. This includes the Gold rehab subscription and our pay-as-you-go physio appointments. You can claim initial physio appointments using code 500 and the follow-up sessions using code 505. Run Ready has an on-site HICAPS machine for immediate claims.

We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes like a T-shirt and short pants during your sports physio sessions.

During sports physiotherapy sessions, your muscles, joints, and ligaments will be put under stress through stretching, etc. These may cause a little bit of discomfort but it shouldn’t be extremely painful.
