SHIN SPLINT TREATMENT
Shin splints, also known as medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS), is an overuse injury that occurs when people engage in repetitive impact training. The majority of runners have suffered this injury. It is defined by generalised discomfort on the inner lower part of the tibia (shin bone) during exercise. However, other regions of the tibia may also exhibit symptoms. Consult a specialist for proper diagnosis and treatment. At Run Ready, we provide a unique sports physiotherapy model that delivers a professional standard rehabilitation experience. We optimise recovery from all types of injuries via an integrated process of sports physiotherapy and rehab in our state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facility.
Our Coaches Have Worked With
SHIN SPLINT REHAB
Shin splints develop as a result of overusing the muscles, tendons, and bone tissue in the lower leg, which causes swelling and discomfort. Activities that repeatedly stress the shinbone and the tissues around it are a common cause of the ailment. Our friendly and highly experienced team work collaboratively to formulate a training plan to optimise your sporting performance. With a state-of-the-art training facility your rehab will be accelerated, returning you to sport sooner and in better condition. See also our program for runners knee.
PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR SHIN SPLINTS
Shin splints can cause discomfort, soreness, and swelling around the shinbone’s inner edge. The discomfort might get worse during or after physical exercise and can be either severe or mild. Shin splints should not be ignored since delaying treatment might result in more severe disorders including stress fractures. Our expert team thoroughly assess injuries using VALD testing equipment, giving unparalleled insight into injury risk, physical deficits and goal setting.
Our mission is to provide local athletes with professional level sports rehabilitation through our sports physio programs, helping them return to the sport they love.
