HAMSTRING TENDONITIS

An injury to either the tendons or the muscle can result in knee discomfort or hip pain, as well as trouble walking or bending the knee, as the hamstrings stretch the hips and bend the knee. Overuse frequently results in tendonitis. Hamstring tendonitis is an inflammation and swelling of the hamstring tendons that can develop over time, especially with heavy usage. Hamstring tendonitis is more common in runners, swimmers, cyclists, and persons who engage in other repetitive knee and leg motions.  At Run Ready, we provide a unique sports physiotherapy model that delivers a professional standard rehabilitation experience. We optimise recovery from all types of injuries via an integrated process of sports physiotherapy and rehab in our state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facility.

HAMSTRING TENDINOPATHY

Injured tissues frequently don’t fully recuperate when used too soon. Tendon injuries are far more prone to occur again when they are weak. The likelihood of suffering long-term damage increases with the number of times the same tissue is harmed. Our friendly and highly experienced team work collaboratively to formulate a training plan to optimise your sporting performance. With a state-of-the-art training facility, your rehab will be accelerated, returning you to sport sooner and in better condition. See related injury treatment for iliotibial band syndrome

HAMSTRING TENDONITIS TREATMENT

Overuse is the primary cause of tendinitis. Activities like running, kicking, and leaping that require a lot of knee flexion and hip extension are the usual causes. Football and soccer are two sports where quick bursts of activity or abrupt changes in speed and direction are major causes of this type of injury. Our expert team thoroughly assess injuries using VALD testing equipment, giving unparalleled insight into injury risk, physical deficits and goal setting.

We want to provide our local athletes with professional level sports rehabilitation through our sports physio programs, helping them return to the sport they love.
